Automotive water pipe function
In a water-cooled car cooling system, water pipes are an important component that forms the cooling system and serve as the circulation channel for coolant in the cooling system.
The water pipe transports coolant and carries the heat generated by the engine during driving to the water tank for heat dissipation.
Water pipes are divided into: upper water pipe, lower water pipe (connecting the water tank and pump end), heating air pipe (for air conditioning), iron water pipe, etc. Each water pipe has its own function, but the main visible ones are the upper and lower pipes in the cooling system.

Reasons for water pipe failure
1. Electrochemical corrosion
Causing slow corrosion and damage to water pipes from within. When electrochemical corrosion occurs in water pipes, it is often not apparent from the outside, but the interior of the pipes may have been severely damaged. Electrochemical corrosion is the most common cause of failure in automotive water pipes.
2. Water pipe leakage
Usually occurs in the part of the water pipe joint, caused by insufficient clamping force or joint damage. If the water pipe is replaced before the engine is completely cooled, different dimensional changes will occur due to the different expansion coefficients of rubber and metal (or plastic). When the engine is completely cooled, the water pipe is prone to leakage.
3. Heat damage
If thermal damage occurs inside the water pipe, the pipe will show slight swelling. If thermal damage occurs outside the water pipe, it is easier to distinguish, and the surface of the water pipe will become hard, shiny, and have cracks.
4. Ozone damage
After being damaged by ozone, small parallel cracks usually appear on the surface of car water pipes, commonly found in the bent parts of the pipes.
5. Surface wear
During the operation of the car, friction occurs between the water pipe and adjacent components, resulting in wear on the surface of the water pipe.
6. Oil pollution corrosion
The chemical reaction between oil pollution and the components of water pipes disrupts their molecular structures, causing water pipes to soften, expand, and detach from each layer, ultimately leading to water pipe failure.
WAHLER water pipe replacement
The engine water pipe does not need to be replaced regularly, and the water pipe is not a vulnerable component of motor vehicles. Only when the water pipe leaks or ages, it needs to be replaced. As long as attention is paid to the lack of antifreeze in the motor vehicle, the replacement time of the water pipe is judged, and whether the water pipe is leaking.
In daily work, the quality changes of car water pipes are easily overlooked. Regular observation and maintenance of water pipe quality changes, timely replacement before water pipe failure and leakage, will provide assurance for the stable operation of the entire car cooling system.
The WAHLER Benbao series water pipes are resistant to oil stains, high strength, ozone and coolant, and have better insulation performance, providing protection for your car!
